12/22/05 The U.S. Senate approved S.1932 (budget reconciliation bill) yesterday which still includes cuts to foster care assistance for abused and neglected children. Because the Senate made some technical changes, this may land back in the House as early as today for another vote. 6/20/05 The postsecondary tuition for children who have been adopted through the Connecticut public child welfare system did remain in the state budget. To the best of our knowledge, children who have been adopted as of 1/1/05 through the state will be eligible. We will keep you informed as details unfold.
