The Senate bill 293, An Act Providing Certain Adult Adopted Persons with Access to Parental Health Information and Information in Their Original Birth Certificates will be in hearing on 3/2/10 at 2:00 in room 1D of the LOB. This bill will only open Access from 10/1/11 on with no retroactivity. It does provide for the contact to birth parents to update their medical histories.
A new bill was raised today in the Senate, #353, An Act Adopting a Foster Parent Bill of Rights. This has been raised by the Human Services Committee. I will let you know if it has a hearing posted.
There is no hearing date as yet for the HB 5101 on expanding assistance for postsecondary tuition.
